Pentax B Adapter M42 to K Mount in stock at Adorama
Posted By: Adam_T4, 05-03-2013, 02:56 PM

Today Adorama shipped me my genuine Pentax B Adapter to mount M42 screwmount lenses onto K mount cameras. Been hunting for one awhile now. B&H says they are discontinued and they go for up to $60 on eBay. Now I can start looking in earnest for a Helios 44 - which one was it that has the swirly boheh?

Received a shipment notice from Adorama that my adapter shipped. I'm happy but I don't have the first m42 lens to even try out . Any suggestions.
55/1.8 or 50/1.4 they are each excellent lenses and fairly easy to find.

I got my Adapter from Samy's about a week ago but I'm in the same boat as I do not know what M42 lenses to acquire as of yet. I suppose a Tak 55 f/1.8 would be as good a place to start as any especially since I don't own anything in that focal range and it seems like a good value for the price. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what FL you like. As someone else said

Swirly bokeh is best found with a Helios 44-2 IMHO ... like one of these. But note it will wobble a bit on that adapter ... J

it's still secure right? . I like the swirly bokeh so I think that one a 35mm and maybe the SMC 55 Tak will bes nice addition to the collection

I looked up the reviews on this lens and the bokeh is insanely swirly! Would love to get this lens but it seems to be only available on eBay from places in Europe. Didn't see any on KEH unfortunately.
