The only place I can find is the Pentax Web Store but they are selling it for AU$59 and you pay extra for shipping (I think).

If they had a $29 deal with free shipping in Aussy then I would buy atleast 2 adapters!

(un!)Fortunately, I discovered this particular forum today, saw this thread and decided to check it out. I have *barely* started to stray into Manual Lense territory but decided a good start would be to get the real adapter (and try not to be infected with LBA!). After seeing Henry's bargain price of $89.99 Canadian for the same thing, I decided to create an account on Adorama and go for it.

For anyone that's interested, I actually tried to add two adapters to my cart before checking out, and it seems that the shipping price didn't change, so if you know anyone who needs one too, you can save on shipping that way. FWIW, this is what it cost me to order it from Ontario, Canada :
Price $ 29.95
Tax: $ 3.89
Shipping Cost: $ 14.70
Total: $ 48.54

I might go through checkout and see what it totals for one, it's $59 each for the adaptor from Pentax and postage is on top of that.

Holy crap, they want $59 to send a little metal ring to me, the adaptor only cost $29 itself, that is insane!

Ouch! That's a lot for a "ring"! I feel your pain - living right next to the US, I sometimes see things that will ship FOR free to Hawaii and Alaska, one which has to go halfway across the Pacific Ocean to reach, the other, through Canada, but to have it shipped to Toronto, which is 1.5 hours away from the border, almost DOUBLES the price. And as bad as that is, it actually sometimes costs even more than that to buy it locally.

Did you try this? Pentax M42 adaptor|M42 lens| Pentax K I know it's not the real Pentax one, but I've read in many forums that it was a pretty good ring. That was going to be my next bet if the Pentax one ended up costing too much. Incidentally, I just got a note from Adorama saying that the item is backordered, so it remains to be seen if I'll get it.

Has anyone had the sticking problem with it? Would save probably around $30 so if there have been any problems with it I may as well go with the genuine.
