The DA-L version doesn't come with hood and has plastic mount while the DA WR version always comes with hood and has metal mount.

K-30's are being closed out. Perhaps more will arrive, but you may have to check the website repeatedly yourself.
Mine arrived a couple days ago and I'm quite pleased with it. When I ordered it about a week ago, the supplies were said to be very low.
Best wishes on hunting down another. Check the Marketplace here. People often sell their older models when they trade up and the K-50s are now available.

You can 'backorder' it from Hunts and lock in the the same price when it comes available. They don't charge until it ships.
I placed a backorder last week after it went out of stock and they emailed saying it was going to ship out today. So, they are getting some in still and honoring the $499 price. Not sure how many or for how long, but worst case, they cancel your backorder and never charge your card.

I just got mine. The shutter count came with (i would say 150+) as I took some pictures and deleted a bunch.. When i loaded the JPG into the shutter count tool, it came out with 214.
I had taken i would say maybe 50 pics (to be conservative) w/o the memory card... flashed new firmware, put the memory card in... and the first shot came with 214.

Not sure if this is a good reason to look for an exchange/return as they insured the item was new (I called)

I wonder if Quality Control would take 100+ pictures?

Anyone knows their starting shutter count?

Thanks,

The 18-55 isn't a bad lens at all. And it is the WR version so you can take shots in the rain/whatever. Without a WR lens it is taking somewhat of a risk if you want to take pics in not so good weather.

That is a normal amount for a new Pentax camera. Pentax doesn't reset the shutter count after QC like some manufacturers.

That is hi. But, new sale receipt for warranty repair is what would concern me, and not 200 count because that is like nothing really. If all looks new, and you really want it instead of the K-5 ii for $1000, just keep it. If you've got buyers remorse then return it.
