Recently got a slow 32 GB 40mbs version of the faster SONY card above. Before I purchased it there was a coment about these cards not working in K-30 and k-01. Various other comments people made said some other brands don't work as well, and kind of hit and miss type of scenarios going on here.
It gets a fatal memory card error and will not work! But, it works in everything else. Come on Pentax!!!!!!!!!!!
The specific card I bought - Sony 32GB SDHC/SDXC Class 10 UHS-1 R40 Memory Card (SF32UY/TQMN) -
Did not work in new Pentax K-30 with two different firmwares 1.00 and 1.04
Nor did formatting by computer or by K-x help. Even went so far as to FULL format which I didn't think would help, and yes it was all a waste of time. My K-x now has my new 32 GB card.
Soooo, I'm reluctant to get a 16/32GB sdhc card to try again. My 8/4/2GB cards all work just fine in K-30.
32 (and even 64) gb cards should work just fine. I'd recommend looking at sandisk cards, as they have a pretty good track record.

I'm also waiting to see more feedback with the Sony 32GB and the K-30.

I had bought a couple of the Sony 16GB Class 10 UHS-1 SDHC for $10 deal, and they work fine with the K-30.

It arrived yesterday and I run some tests using ATTO Disk Benchmark application. I was getting around 45 MB/sec write rates and 77 MB/sec read rates.

When I tried with real images from my K-7 on a USB 3 reader I got a sustained real world read rate of around 45 Mb/sec which is really good.

I'm not a fan of sony MCs. The UHS 32GB I have won't work in the K-30 and half my other gear won't read it. On the PC it shows smaller than expected formatted capacity which makes me think it has many bad sectors.

Sandisk 32 has quite a bit more formatted capacity, is water/crush/freeze proof, and is available for $25-$33, and has no issue in any devices I own.

Edit: This could be faster than sandisk I own, my sony is a 40 not 94.

This seemed like a good deal, and I would had liked this high-capacity card for video. However, the comments about Sony SDHC problems with the K-30 and the K-01 will make me pass on this deal.

OK thanks.
Today I tried the SONY UHS-1 32 GB 40gbs in my K-01 with ver 1.00 firmware and it does not work - same memory card error message
Updated firmware to 1.03 and that made no difference.
So, confirmed that card WILL NOT WORK in Pentax K-30 of K-01 with most current firmware update
So, until somebody verifies that this 94mbs version works I'll pass on SONY

I had a card that wouldn't work in a K-01 or K-30 unless I formatted it in a K-r first - today it stopped working in my USB card reader. I had to dig out the PC cable to read it from a camera body (it read fine). Whatever the problem is, it's not just Pentax. I'm guessing it's something to do with timing for the ultra-fast cards and how the reader/card chipmakers implement it.

That's very surprising. I wouldn't imagine that a Sony card would have compatibility issues. Oh well. I guess there's a reason why I stick with SanDisk Extreme and Extreme Pro cards.

I have a brand new K-30 and 2 of these brand new Sony cards as advertised from B&H.

The Sony cards work perfectly in my K-30 both for photos an video, RAW, KPEG, RAW+JEPG, 24fps, 60 fps, makes no difference. Flawless performance.

They also load at USB 3 speed via my Mac Mini port.

I am running the K-30 on firmware V.1.00.

Same here, I have two of those memory cards and they don't work on my K-01 but they do work on my K-5 and K-x.
