Unbelievable! I mean is this serious?

I couldn't possibly afford this one. I think I have the wrong job.

yeah, for almost that price you could buy a Canon 6D AND a 135mm f2 L lens. I love my Pentax lenses but the pricing (mostly due to a lack of modern equivalent) can get pretty wacky.

Can I aford it. No. However, it is an A* lens and it is also an f1.8 which is impressive for a 135mm lens. This is also a very good performer.

F/1.8 and f/2 are only 1/3 of a stop appart... A star and all, still a really old, overpriced lens. Even coatings, as good as SMC might have been at the moment, modern coatings are a lot better.

I wasn't talking about Canon one way or the other. However, The A* is out of production. Plus, you ignored the performance part of the equation.

You can get a Voigtlander 125mm f2.5 for less, and even that lens is overpriced.

For $2700 you can get a used full frame Canon or Nikon body and an 85mm f1.4 used for less than this, then take a photo and just crop it.

Either the Gods have gone crazy or insiders know something is coming. KEH prices to the market not to a dream.

I'm an unabashed fan of the lens (and KEH, for that matter) but $2,569.00? I don't think so.

I like them too, and have seen a lot of things reasonably priced on their site, with these kind of items though, it seems that a home run isn't enough for them, they want the bases loaded too.

I see the prices going through the roof for older Takumar and Pentax lenses. Any one knows the original prices of these? For example how much was a 50mm/1.4 Super Takumar when it was still available (new)?

Maybe when 3 batters get struck out in a row, the price will go down.

I don't remember without digging through some of my paper records, but the A* 135/1.8 was very expensive when it was new.
