Oh, man, it seems to have already sold out! The "order" link was active when I originally posted this a few minutes ago, but now I see it has changed to "backordered." They must have only had 1 or 2 available. Sorry to raise any hopes!!

Here is my recommendation for anyone really determined to get this lens refurbished from Sigma Outlet. Bookmark the Sigma store link above and visit it every morning. One day it might just pop up for you, where the "backorder" button changes to "order"! I check the Sigma Outlet every day and it RARELY has any new offerings, which is why I was surprised this morning to see the 50-150 listed.

You can add it with the backorder button, but when you go to check out, it will say that the Pentax version is sold out and please remove it from your cart...

Kenafein-- did you buy it?

You are correct. I was hesitant to try checking out and seeing when it'd say it wasn't available because the last time I did that, I ended up purchasing tickets to a random show just to prove a point.

If you need WR, then stick with DA 50-135. But numerous comparison tests done by other PF Forum Members show that the Sigma 50-150 has faster AF than the Pentax SDM. plus it's a little longer reach...

I didn't buy it. I am not in the market, but I hope someone grabs it, if it's for grabbing.

Last time Sigma outlet sold a bunch of these, I contacted them and I was assured that it was all of their old inventory and they would not have anymore to list. Anytime a 50-150mm shows up now, I think you can assume it is probably just an odd lens that had already been sold and then returned.

Yes - it's for the WR. I'm currently juggling between the 50-135 and the 60-250 when I get the k-5IIs.

The Sigma compares wonderfully, and people should jump on this as it becomes available.

Good to know. I think this may happen also with their Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (original version). I saw one listed briefly but then it was gone in a few hours, so clearly it's just a limited number -- probably NOT old stock. Last time, the 50-150 was available for several days, indicating there were quite a few to be had. It helps to be lucky!!

Well I enjoyed watching the show, but regardless it was an "oh shit" moment when it said "your payment has been approved" when I was expecting to be rejected.
