Pentax 35mm for $150 and 50mm for $120. Other lenses too.

Pentax is having a sale on lenses. There are a few on sale but these two seem pretty good. The 35mm is $150 and the 50mm is half off at $120.

Looks like I'm not the only one with Multiple Normal Lens Disorder. My list:
SMC Tak 55/1.8
M 50/1.4
A 50/1.4
A 50/1.7
FA 50/1.4

And now, to great shame, my will power has failed to prevent the DA 50/1.8 to join the gang. If this keeps on I'll never be able to save enough for a DA 15mm

I don't own a 35 or 50 prime. Which of these two lengths do you guys prefer with a dslr?

I prefer 21/24mm and 50mm. 35mm in between is too restrictive for me.

That being said, tons of people love 35mm.

I don't think DA 50mm f1.8 has quickshift. Pentax brochures also often mistakenly state the 40mm XS has quickshift - but it really doesn't. Pentax really should fix this. (I mean the brochures. Or if they add QS to those lenses, I would like that very much!)

But that is an amazing deal. I, too, already have a few lenses in that focal length range, but am very tempted by the DA 50mm. Great deal for anyone who doesn't already own an AF nifty fifty

Bought the 50. It doesn't have QS, but I'm impressed enough with the 35 that I can live without it.

Once you add the lens to your cart (The screen where it says PROCEED TO CHECKOUT), choose to close the browser tab, a pop window from Pentax flashes a message offering free shipping for purchase of over $99. Click the link and the shipping fee vanished. So DA 50mm f/1.8 for $119.95 flat. Woot!

Thank you for posting this!!! After my disappointing experience recently trying to buy a used 35mm from BH (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/233858-pentax-...ocus-ring.html), this is welcome.. and the same price as the used.. only brand new!!!

I didn't really need the 50mm but bought it too anyways.. too cheap to pass on..

The only auto focus prime I have is FA50 so I am seriously considering DA35. Image contrast it produces look pretty good on the review page.
How noisy is DA35 while focusing? Any first hand experience please?

If you have the kit 18-55 just set it to 35-ish mm and look through the viewfinder and do the same at 50mm

That is what I did.. for walk around I discovered 35mm is far more valuable to me. For people shots or indoor shots, I'd pick the 50mm

at these prices.. I picked up both
