Pentax 35mm for $150 and 50mm for $120. Other lenses too.
Posted By: lenshoarder, 08-13-2013, 11:28 AM

Pentax is having a sale on lenses. There are a few on sale but these two seem pretty good. The 35mm is $150 and the 50mm is half off at $120.

F**K ME I put the order for the 50mm/1.8...
I'm skeptical you'll find yourself using it that much if you have a FA 43 too... but sometimes an impulse buy is an impulse buy.

Missed the 35. Bought my girlfriend the 50, as she doesn't have any other autofocus lenses that will work in low light.

I also have the FA43 but given its price, I sometimes do not want to bring it along. The DA50 1.8 will be good alternative. The K01, kit 18-55, 50-200, DA35, DA50 will comprise a low weight, low total cost kit to bring to places where someone may want them. Or bring along a manual tele prime like M135 instead of 50-200.

Gak! I ordered, and my order page said $120, but I got my confirmation email and it said $250!

Did anyone else have this problem?

If anyone feels bad about their impulse buy, PM me, and I can probably alleviate your buyer's remorse (if you're willing to ship to Canada).

Yes, my confirmation email was also inflated by $130, and my credit card has been charged the full price ($249.95). I sent an email to the Pentax Webstore along with a copy of my order showing the correct price, and hopefully they will take care of it. If not, I'll have to file a dispute with my credit card company. The website still shows the $119.95 price.

Hope you kept a copy of your order!

Earlier today the price was shown as being back at $250, and on back order.
It showed this time as $120.
I just bought one with PayPal cash.
The invoice sent to me also shows $249.95, but I checked my PayPal account and only $119.95 was taken out.
The code PTXUPSLTWEBMACSS did work for free shipping.

Yeah. And wanna experience the "plastic butt" and DLSR optimized design. FA43 is good, but i might overestimated it and when I use that one I just have to be very careful, so hope this da 50 is a working horse.

Same here. For about 15-20 minutes the price went up to regular $249 then back down to $119. Paypal indicates $119+shipping but invoice is $249 - their system is probably getting overwhelmed with the massive transactions going on.

Same here - on site purchase receipt showed $119.00 & free shipping for the 50mm. Email confirmation quoted $250.00. The CC has not yet processed the order.

Confirmation email shows $119.95 and so does my pending card charge, even though it was out of stock. Ordered last night, like 12:30am.

Thanks for the heads up! I just checked the email and had the same issue. I emailed them about the discrepancy along with a copy of the PDF receipt. Let's see how it goes...

someone please talk me out of buying the DA 50 at this ridiculously low price ... keeping in mind that I already have the FA 43 f/1.9 and a FA 50 f/1.4, there's really no compelling reason for me to get a DA 50 f/1.8, right??? Other than having a cheap-o, lightweight lens to go places where I might not care if things are stolen? Or is this just a case of LBA, jump-on-the-bandwagon, becoming one of the lemmings?

It seems you've answered your own question. I have not seen it before but when was the last time you came across 48% discount on a modern/current prime lens offered by Pentax web-store itself?
