maybe i'm reading this chart wrong, but for us landscape shooters about 40% of the image (10mm-15mm) is going to be useless from a
pixel peeping standpoint.

when you can get an FA35 f2 new for 400, why the excitement over this lens except for the USB dock and the uber geeky ability to tweak focus.. where's the value?

Heck for the refurb price of 650, could buy a K5 body and the DA 35.

Maybe I'm spending too much time reading tech specs, but of the revamped Sigma lens lineup, only the 50-500 has improved over older versions. Count me in the "Not Impressed" corner

40% of the image is useless? I think you are seeing the wrong chart. Also, that chart is at f/1.4. Stop it down to f/2.0 and the chart will look like a table.

Roger Cicala of Lens Rentals describes the Sigma 35/1.4, stating, "This lens kicks butt, takes names, and basically posterizes the manufacturers who make the cameras this lens will fit on. "

Plus, f/1.4 on FF vs. f/2.0 on APS-C is hardly a comparison.

Also it has silent focusing motor. And having used the Sigma 50 F1.4, that silent motor is pretty addictive.

And F1.4 is a stop faster than F2.
