What happens when you buy something for someone else, say as a gift?
I think in order to claim the warranty, you have to have proof of the
original sale from an authorized vendor. So if I buy a camera as a gift, I would give the recipient a copy of the receipt in case they need any warranty service. Same if I sell used, I think - so long as I give the original receipt to the buyer, they can claim warranty service. In this case, I doubt Amazon Warehouse is an authorized vendor, and they wouldn't send you the original receipt from whoever did sell the camera originally, so you wouldn't be able to claim the warranty. (Although it depends - Amazon receipts for marketplace items can be confusing and might let you get away with saying "I bought this from Amazon.")
Or I could be completely wrong about all of the above
