Amazing Adorama deal on the K-50
Posted By: Wolfeye, 10-15-2013, 07:03 PM

Only $776 for the body, WR 18-55mm kit lens, 32gb card, shoulder bag AND a $200 Adorama gift certificate. Add a hundred bucks more and get the WR 50-200mm lens too. Oh, and they double the Pentax warranty to two years on top of it. I wish I'd waited.

I figured it was here SOMEWHERE on the site, but wanted to be sure and share it. What a sweet deal.

oh yes, I misread your original post and thought 776 with both lenses. So still same deal going on then.
Really would prefer a blowout deal on k-5 iis.

If only you could apply the gift certificate to the cost of the camera....

I don't think you'll get that price AND a $200 gift card. Rather, it's included in the discounted sale price of the camera.

It appears that you do indeed get that price And the $200 gift card, but the lens is the DA L 18-55mm WR.

If you add up Adorama's prices for what they're giving with this k-50 deal, you get a discount of $315.85 from the current selling price. ($35.95 memory card; $59.95 camera bag; and, $19.95 extended warranty = $115.85) I'm betting the other $200 in the discounted price comes from using the gift card. It's hard to believe Adorama would be discounting the recently released K-50 at a $400 discount by giving you a $200 discount and also a $200 gift card.

If you add it to your cart and go to checkout, it says the total price is $776.95 and still says in the description that you get everything that you just mentioned.

The camera is White and the lens is the DA L not the DA, so maybe that's why the savings is so large? I can't imagine why someone would want a white camera and i'm sure everyone would prefer the DA lens over the DA L.

You can get the camera in any of the 3 normally stocked colors.

It's a new DA L WR lens, so it still gives you plenty of bang for your buck.

That clarifies one question - can you get this deal for custom colors (I guess not).

Other question - do you know if there is an expiration date for this deal? Will this beat next month's black friday discounts?

I think you can only get it on the ones shown on this page:

IPXK50****B : Buy or Learn at Adorama

Also I don't know that anybody will know whether or not these discounts will be better or worse than Black Friday.... It is my personal opinion that if you aren't in love with the K-50 at these price points, then just wait until Black Friday comes and at the very least i'm sure you can find a deal very similar to this, maybe even better.

Personally, I just bought a K-30 about a month ago and I want to pick up the 18-135mm WR lens (Mine came with the 18-55mm WR which for me, leaves plenty to be desired).

I am waiting until Black Friday comes to see if anybody puts that lens on sale, or if I happen to find it bundled with a camera at a great discount, I may just buy the kit to get the lens and sell the body.

My biggest concern is that someone might offer an amazing deal on a K-5ii or K-3 for Black Friday (bundled with the 18-135 WR lens) and I may order it and then not be able to re-sell the body because I will want to keep it so bad :P

Both cameras will almost undoubtedly see discounts. I'm not sure if they'll drop the price of the K-50, it really depends on the market.
