Gah! I pulled the trigger. Kiddo is getting my K-x handed down instead of the k2000 that I had bought on eBay which is going back because it is non-functioning. I don't even know half of what my k-x does! WTH am I thinking?!?!

Ok, here's a question? Which is the better deal? The K-5ii plus 50mm for $716 or the K-50 with 18-55mmWR and the 50mm for $706?

The K-5ii has better RAW iso performance, 1+ fps faster burst, much quieter shutter, top panel, magnesium alloy body, microphone input, 14-bit vs 12-bit RAW, and better low-light AF.

I have the K-30 (which is essentially the K-50) and am not super happy with it. I came from a K-x! haha

Personally, I'm pondering the 800 dollar offer here.. and trying to sell the lens for 300 to make the body 500. But I think that is a gamble.. esp since I'm guessing others will be doing the same thing.. thus potentially lowering the value of the lens for awhile.

I've been super happy with my K-x, but I haven't really strayed far from Auto or P. I bought my first all manual lens off eBay for $20 last week. It's almost like having a whole new camera again! Playing with buttons, dials, etc.

I was happy with my K-x too. It is lightweight, nice grip, and produces nice images. But I sold my baby to pay for my K-30 reading all of the super wonderful reviews and excitement on the site.. only to be somewhat disappointed when I actually got it.

The K-5 (or K-5 II) appears to be the 'better' upgrade if photography alone is your concern. It doesn't have the Focus Peaking or fancier video modes, but I find myself not really using them anyways in the overwhelming majority of my use with the K-30.

Yeah, I don't ever shoot video with my photography camera. If I shoot a video of something, it's typically on my smartphone to share on social networking.

If you are using a pre-k5 body and thinking of upgrading, or looking for a 2nd body, then this is the deal to grab! Imo still the best 16mp apsc sensor camera going around, for $600!? Staggering. Even as a k5 user, I'm tempted, lol. Though the S model is still probably more in my thinking

I think this price is good thru Monday so wait and see what else crops up. I'd like IIs or K-3 deal

The K-5 II with 18-135 at 799 + 50/1.8 add on for 119 is pretty good.

In what other ways are you disappointed with the K-30, other than the interval mode problem and lockup, JPEG engine, and the grip?

I personally couldn't pass on it at this price. It'll be replacing a Kx, and I can't justify twice the price for the K3 right now ... hell, my K01 has been my primary camera since I got it, so I can't see how the K5ii will be a bad choice for me.

Adam do you know how long these prices will last? And if they run out of stock will the pricing end?

PS- It's a good day when you can buy a K-5ii w/ 18-135mm WR cheaper than a K-50 w/ 18-135mm WR

I don't recall having issues with the JPG engine (since I shoot exclusively in RAW mode, I didn't even know there was a problem!)

However, The highly touted Focus Peaking isn't as useful to me and the shutter clacks fairly loudly. Probably not an issue for most.. but I was expecting an UPGRADE over an upgrade. Largest issue I have with it is the handling however. Are you planning on getting a K-30/K-50?
