Is the only difference between the two power now? The cheaper one can be a master, work wirelessly, etc?

Yes. The same manual of instructions and features applies to both.

Thanks. Now that, I can justify pulling the trigger on. I've been wanting a second flash, and a WR one makes it even better. I hope it's less of a pain to use than the Sigma 610 super.

Somewhere in this thread I put a link to the manual if you want to take a look. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/125-flashes-lighting-studio/241786-540-fg...vs-540-v1.html

Interface is easier than the prior version, I felt. I don't have experience with Sigma to compare.

The Sigma 610 Super is definitely unnatural in their button selection and usage...
Then again I also have the Sigma 530 Super and it's exactly the same.

I can stand the layout and so on, it's the apparent random nature of when the buttons will and won't respond, when they'll let me use pttl, and why on earth can they not have a low battery indicator instead of just trying for a very long time to charge the capacitor or whatever...

YES! And the screw on "lock" on the Sigma that doesn't actually lock! Ugh. Got the Pentax 360… will save the Sigma for off camera only!
