The rarity here is not so much the lens, but that it's being put up for auction rather than an absolutely ridiculous BIN price.

This is true but when I purchased mine off eBay, it sky rocketed in last few hours to over $500 USD. I believe this one will do the same. Mine is pristine with the original cap and case though.

Just over 5 hours left and still under 50 pounds! At this cost, its worth a bid. But I do expect it to go up considerably just before the auction ends. Its rare that a lens slips under the radar and gets sold cheap

The same seller has another lens for sale that I can't place, and which has in-built filters controlled by a ring toward the front. As it's doing fairly well in bidding, I imagine it's probably more rare than the shift 28.

Same thing I thought. ~$381 USD is still a good deal. Mine was $513 USD when I bought it last Oct.

These rarely go for under $500, let alone under $400.
