I'm seeing 1149 too.

However, there is a used one direct from the Amazon Warehouse listed @ $994.25

The ones listed from Amazon Warehouse are not from an authorized dealer most of the time.

Amazon Warehouse = Amazon (the company)

It is the returns warehouse for Amazon.com (the company, not affiliates) bought products.

However, Amazon as a whole isn't an authorized dealer last time I checked (last year), so it is not really an issue if one was considering buying from Amazon in the first place.

That ( at current exchange rate) = £658..........latest Amazon.co.uk price is.........£1029.....this really is Treasure Island for them.

I suppose if you assume the US price is pre all taxes then to compare like with like £1029 - vat = £860 approx

Only 30% more expensive.

Pentax has posted a list of Authorized USA Dealers on the company web store site. Specifically says Amazon is an authorized dealer but most Amazon affiliates ("Sold by, Shipped By") are not. Hence the cannibalizing of kit lenses for separate sale. The list of Dealers is sorted by State.
