For those who missed the Woot deal, fear not! The same is now available at Adorama.

The camera is marked as Discontinued at B&H by the way. So I guess these sales will send soon, as the remaining stock is being sold. I'd expect an MX-2 very soon.

Amazon Prime is a godsend for folks in rural areas.

I use Prime frequently, but Amazon still has the camera at $249. I don't know if I'll keep Prime if they raise the price 25-50% as they're discussing.

I've been avoiding buying things that are sold directly by Amazon, mainly because of the new state sales tax that I have to pay. However, I try to look for the "Prime-eligible" items that are sold by third parties, or perhaps sold by Amazon on behalf of the third party. Usually I would not incur a sales tax in that case.

I agree that I probably will not renew my Prime membership if it goes up to $110-120 a year. Not worth it.

The sales tax isn't terrible, but I don't use the streaming video enough to justify the cost. The advantage of Prime has obviously been the free 2-day shipping on just about everything without a minimum dollar amount, but that's just convenience. I can wait an extra day or two for free shipping over $25 in the future. Anyway, I've derailed this enough talking about Amazon, but it generally is a reflection of how most of us are required to shop online for anything Pentax due to the lack of presence on retail stores' shelves.

I have bad news for you-- if you go off of Prime, the free shipping threshold was recently changed to $35. That's what prompted me to sign up for Prime again. I do find it harder to get over $35 than the original $25.

Anyway, you're right, we Pentaxians generally have to rely on the Internet to get our products-- and that sucks. I really wanted to go into a store to feel a K-5 in my hands, or a MX-1 for that matter. Now I'll just wait for the MX-1 to arrive and I hope that all the positive reviews by actual users as well as professional reviewers are correct. Of course, I also heard from the video review by the CameraStore that you will either love or hate the weight/size of the MX-1. Hopefully I'm on the love side of things! And certainly, it helps that I didn't pay much for the camera, so I may be more willing to forgive its faults-- that's been my attitude towards my quirky K-01.

Neat little camera. Just had a few minutes with it before heading out for dinner. Impressed so far. Love how similar the controls and menus are to my K-5.

I have to say the menu option to use a cat meowing for various functions is a bit strange. Pentax thinks cat people will like this camera? Wasn't marketed to cat people as far as I know.
