The camera is marked as Discontinued at B&H by the way. So I guess these sales will send soon, as the remaining stock is being sold. I'd expect an MX-2 very soon.

well I love my MX-1. Its a good camera for 200 bucks. Probably the best camera you can get for that price in my opinion. Its heavy etc. but its nice. The lens is fast. It has super great macro abilities too.

Any chance this goes back down to $199? If i'd seen this sooner I would have pulled the trigger on this to replace my crappy Canon SD1000 P&S.

maybe the MX-1 is being recognized now. If you like the silver one, then the adorama one is a good deal since its 280 on amazon. The black one is 250 on amazon. I think its a nice camera but its big and solid. Not really a pocket camera. I would say just as easy to carry as the Q though since the lens does not stick out that much. If you like the pentax menus etc. its great. I also have a panasonic zs19 that I like that goes for pretty cheap. But what I like about the pentax is I figured out how to work it.

I want an MX-1 as well, but I don't think my Canon SD1100 is "crappy". It fits in my pocket, which an MX-1 won't do

Crappy in my context means that the SD1000 is a crappy camera compared to the capabilities of modern day point and shoot cameras.

I really want a Sony RX100 for a point & shoot but don't want to spend that much on one right now.

True - they have come a long way in recent years & their IQ is truly stunning. This MX-1 deal meets my personal $200 P&S price point barrier, too.
