Lenses for Pentax at prices too good to be true? eg DA*300 $US679
Posted By: Des, 02-08-2014, 06:22 PM

Pentax Lenses - PENTAX DA Star Lenses - Pentax K-x Lenses - Digital Camera Lenses
(All prices in $US)

Examples:
DA*300 f4 - $679
DA*200 f2.8 - $532
DA 12-24 - $512
DA*60-250 - $673
DA 15 f4 Ltd - $318

Also some very cheap Sigmas and Voigtlanders - start from here: Digital Cameras Lenses,Wide-angle Lenses, Telephoto Lenses,SLR Lenses,Fisheye lens
Examples:
Sigma 105 f2.8 Macro - $261
Sigma 100-300 f4 - $665
Bigma (50-500) - $553
Voigtlander 90 f3.5 - $326

All said to be new.

Many of these are cheaper than second hand.

Quoted shipping prices are reasonable.

Based in Shenzhen, China; items ship from there.

WU, moneygram or bank transfer only for first-time buyers; Paypal and c/card available for "return VIP customers with order record over $500".

Scam??? Fakes???

Anyone bought from them?

run, don't walk, run far away from anything like that.

you have literally zero zilch nada no recourse with a foreign merchant and essentially a cash transaction.

It doesn't look like a legitimate shop. Look at the security verification buttons at the bottom of the page, and compare those with a legitimate websites, like BuyDig.com - Online Shopping for HDTVs, Digital Cameras, Computers, GPS, and more! or Newegg.com - Computer Parts, Laptops, Electronics, and More!. They should link to actual security information of the website for that given date, but instead they link to general information page or nowhere at all.

It's a scam for sure with them wanting cash, and Paypal only for "return VIP customers". Why differentiate your customers like this, except to make yourself look legit by mentioning Paypal without the hassle of actually offering Paypal to customers?

I bet there are never any return customers, VIP or otherwise.

Good advice from nomadkng: RUN!

Yes even eBay gives more protection.

I find it disconcerting that they don't offer Paypal to first time buyers. I can't think why, except to avoid accountability.

Consensus seems to be: SCAM!!

Proves the old adage that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Wow, I hope no one falls for that. WU means you've lost it as soon as it is gone.

Does any legit seller of merchandise ever offer Western Union, Moneygram, or bank transfer as a payment method? It's an honest question on my part. I don't think Amazon, B&H, or Adorama will accept those methods.

Many used equipment dealers will accept wire transfers, for an extra fee. Like KEH.

QuoteQuote:
Can I wire transfer my money to KEH?

We accept wire transfers as a payment option for purchases made at KEH.com.
Upon checkout KEH will add $25.00 to your shopping cart total to cover KEH’s incoming wire transfer fees.
If your wire transfer is not received within 3 banking business days your order will be cancelled and we therefore cannot guarantee the availability of your product after 3 banking business days.
We will release your order for shipment upon receiving verification of the wire transfer.
Wire the total from your order confirmation to:
KEH, Inc.
Fifth Third Bank
ABA # 042000314
ACCT # 7460494334
Swift Code FTBCUS3C
Please send an email to wires@keh.com with your order number, total amount of wire transfer and the date the wire was initiated. Your order will be processed after the wire is received and verified.

There's no consumer protection when you pay by those methods. No way am I spending hundreds of dollars overseas with no recourse if seller fails to deliver.
