This deal isn't that new, but it's a great price on an amazing lens.

Does the Sigma 17-70 C for Pentax still have OS built into the lens giving you the option to use the camera in-body IS or the lens OS? Not sure, but if memory serves, e.g., the Sigma 17-50 for Pentax actually does not offer OS in that mount.
No, the Sigma C does not have OS. The Canon and Nikon mounts have it, but it has been left off the Pentax version even though the price is the same.

Typically they unfortunately don't include in lens OS with pentax mounts any more. I had an email exchange with a Sigma rep who said that they've been requested by pentax and sony users to remove it. And, doing so, requires some redesign, some different parts, and costs them more. So, you lose the option of in lens OS, which is generally better at longer focal lengths, because it is too difficult for a few vocal users to have to flip a switch once in a while.

I just returned from a vacation and I used the lens extensively as my walk around. I'm really loving this lens!

I was shooting straight into the mid morning sun which is just out of the frame. It handled it well and no flare.

Just kept getting tired of changing lenses, especially in inclement weather. I own two other Sigma lenses that I enjoy, so I picked up the 17-70 as a general purpose walk-around lens. It arrived today and I couldn't believe how quiet the auto focus mechanism was, and try-out pics appear nice and sharp.

Although I always try to support this sites sellers, I got a great deal from buydig.com. $431 for the lens (with extended US warranty), Hoya NXT HMC UV filter, free 2 day shipping, and best of all - no NYS sales tax. I believe the $50 discount from Sigma ends this month.

Hi, it was an online deal. The lens with added Hoya UV filter & a cheap cleaning kit was $449 with an additional 4% off your credit card. Also, included the 2 days free shipping. I checked my online order receipt and the date was March 15th.

Ok, thanks. I don't even see the Pentax version listed on the buydig website, so maybe you got the last one that they carry in K-mount. Congrats!
