It looks like Adorama has reinstated the $696.95 deal on the K-5 Iis:

Pentax K-5 IIs Digital SLR Camera Body 12050

Includes a 4% reward and free shipping.

Any idea if other retailers will offer this? Nothing against adorama but kinda trying to stay with ones I've dealt with for years...

Amazon has it:
Amazon.com: Pentax K-5 IIs 16.3 MP DSLR Body Only (Black): Camera & Photo

But you can't go wrong with shopping at Adorama- they'll make it right if you're not happy.

Ok from the CFO but is it that much better than the K-5 Adam?

Oh I'm sure they are great and I may go that route, I've just had good luck elsewhere and kinda scratching my head why they haven't followed suit...

I'm in. Coming from a K10D, this is going to be an awesome upgrade! Hoping the PTTL works okay. I'm guessing it can't be any worse than the K10D.

Ya I'm thinking it won't go much lower than this considering the K-5 and K-5ii are both $639 on Amazon...
(Hmm I wonder why it costs more to have a camera with no AA filter, unless there is some other differences. )

Apparently, Amazon has a 7 day price protection policy, starting from the day of delivery.

I paid $1,096.00 for my K5IIS in August from one of the major on-line retailers mentioned so often here in the forums, for those debating the $697.00 +/- pricing for a reality check. I added it to my pair of k5 bodies. I love it; I think I see a difference between it and the K5. Filter or no filter, doesn't matter as much as what kind of a lens you use, so I will be happy to continue to use my old bodies with great primes. Get great primes and you will be happy with whatever body you use. Look at, for instance, old K10D or K200D photos taken with the FA31 or FA43 in the pentax photo gallery.

It's also US$699.99 from Prodigital2000's ebay store: NEW Pentax K 5 IIS Digital SLR Camera Body Only K 5IIS DSLR NO AA Filter 027075220737 | eBay

Maybe a better choice for Canadians as it's free shipping and we get the 2-year Canadian Warranty. Up to about a week ago they were listing one per day as auctions starting at US$679.99. Many went by with no bids, I picked up one of the last listed this way. Only mentioning this as you can 'Make an Offer' on the 'Buy It Now' listing.
I see Prodigital2000 has their $679.99 auction up again.

But I forgot now Canadians have to consider it's in US funds since the exchange rate has gone down. Plus you will need to pay tax on top of that (I think if you are in Ontario only).

But, their amazon.ca store (I think Prodigital2000 is the same as 123easyship) has the K-5iis for $699.99 CAD. So it's actually the better deal.

I would have ordered it from them if I didn't have amazon.com gift cards...

Thanks for the reality check. With the great online deals on the K3 right now, it can be had for ~850 to 1000 dollars. For guys like me upgrading from a 'dino' age body (a K10) a K3 is a monumental leap of faith. Akin to driving a ferrari after your daily driver is a 1995 toyota camry

I see that prodigital2k continues to auction these off, 1 at a time and with short turnaround, so usually just one bid takes it. Curious - and too bad about the 'international' warranty, I presume the $20 bonus coverage won't work there. Still an amazing camera I'd think, I really liked what the II offered over my K-5 Classic.

I've been using mine a little bit. There seems to be quite an improvement in sharpness and focus speed when using my Pentax DA 55-300mm. I've been taking photos mostly in natural settings (& a bridge) and I haven't noticed any moiré. Looking forward to testing it out more.

Looks like it's backordered but you can still order it from the "another deal site" seller for $659. (Fulfilled by amazon.)

Amazon.com had taken theirs down for sale since around march 7th (unless they put it back up briefly)
