I view the DA35/2.4 as a lighter/smaller normal than the Sigma30/1.4 that I usually use. I might be able to fit the DA15+DA21+DA35+DA70 in the bag all at once.

That's nice too but I always put a good B and W filter on my lenses. No sense using the great Pentax SMC lens coatings with a cruddy filter. Kind of defeats the whole purpose otherwise DYT?.

Yea, no filter. You're right.
For $140 bucks I wouldn't worry too much about nicking up the lens.

IMO a hood is better protection, and will improve IQ more than a UV filter.

That being said if you do use one make sure it has good multicoating. I usually use Hoya or Kenko because of price to performance ratio. B&W are nice, but expensive. If you compare the reflection from a good filter with a bad one the difference is obvious, and the tiffens and other freebies fail this test.

Ordered on Friday and recieved today (Sunday). Plastic Fantastic! New with all cards and the Pentax/Ricoh warranty. Nice. Too bad it came this afternoon. I could have used the extra width. Instead I ended up at Los Angeles CicLAvia shooting with my 50mm. CicLAvia is where they close down a major street for some miles and only open it for bikes and walkers. Good fun!

Mine arrived today. Sold by Another Deal Site, fulfilled by Amazon. The front lens cap was missing and a body cap thrown in instead. The paint on the front of the body was scuffed off and the front element was very dusty. Functional, but definitely not in "New" condition.
