Seems like the DA teleconverter is now available on CRK's website now...

Price is A$639....a bit pricey the way I look at it...but if the IQ is good, perhaps it is worth the money. I am hoping CRK reduce the price to something like A$500 or so but I think it is not possible.

looks good, price rather reasonable, I am in Europe right now and all gear much more expensive here.
VAT ( like GST in AU) here is 20+% , shocking!
so will have to wait till the end of MAY when back in Perth.

Mine did indeed arrive today

It comes in a little draw-string faux leather pouch like the DA limiteds, and the front cap is a nice tactile bayonet affair, rather than the rubbish push-on cap which comes with Pentax bodies. Overall it looks very high quality.
Autofocus with the DA*300 seems unaltered; it remains nicely decisive but not super-quick.
Image quality wide open appears to be good, but at the moment I have only done a few hand-held shots of wall charts. I will try to upload something when I get home from work.

Sadly, it does not work well at all with my Sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM. The AF functions, but just hunts back and forth aimlessly. I hope (and expect) it will do better with the DA*50-135....

You should be able to order the RC for about 399 euro, I'm not sure if any store has it on stock.
With all our high prices and shocking VAT (24% in Romania, btw), that's cheaper than A$639 or $599.

Wasn't there a trick so guys residing outside of VAT area could get reimbursed later of the undue VAT ?
Not sure this is still possible (and it depended on the shop).

Yes, not a trick but I think you can get a VAT refund - if you live outside the VAT area.
I can't do that, but I could wait until the end of May and the 20% anniversary price reduction from our local dealer. Starting from an already low 376 euro, I have no reasons to complain.

Interesting. Given the current exchange rates, the CRK price is about the same or slightly better, as it is on many lenses at the moment. Perhaps we should get in quick before the prices rise when the AUD falls again. I've done my dash for the moment, with the HD DA 35/2.8 macro limited, at least this month...

No where in stock in Europe,at least UK or Germany...Euro 399 is cheapest or 335 ex VAT
DK & Sweden have 25% VAT!!! so Rumania is cheap

I have not used and cannot vouch for this shop although they claim to stock CRK sourced items.
They also claim free Australian delivery.
