Pentax Q w 5-15mm $149, MX-1 $199 refurbs at Woot
Posted By: dcNate, 04-16-2014, 06:09 PM

Saw a bunch of refurb cameras available on woot for the next few days, $5 shipping per order, but these are refurbs:

Seems like a decent deal on a Q kit with the 5-15mm lens, they have Black and White models:

Black for $149

White for $149

And the MX-1 for $199 here.

They also have the X-5 but I don't know if their pricing of $129 is any good as I don't know this model well: X-5.

Just noticed the WG-10 as well for $99 here.

There are a bunch of other non-pentax cameras but the price on the Q is what jumped out at me first.

I saw that one this morning and did a double-take because I mistakenly read it as "K-5", lol.

Woot is owned by Amazon now... I have bought many other things on Woot before and their CS is pretty good. (Terms and conditions are different from Amazon however)

I've have made a few purchases from them. The one return I had to make was harder than it should have been. It took CS way too long to respond to my requests. Generally they are easy to deal with and I will purchase from them again without worry. As far as grey market goes I have not heard of that from them.

I have used Woot since long before Amazon bought them (back when it used to truely be 1 item per day, often times sold out by noon) - I liked Woot better before Amazon bought them since now it often seems to be a dumping ground for Amazon with so-so deals, but that aside they have always done good by me.

Target retail stores in the US closed out a lot of photo gear, including the their X-5 (which they only offered in silver) and the WG-10 (which was a Target exclusive). I asked at a few stores and on the cutover date, they sent all the left-over and demo cameras back to their respective manufacturers.

So, this is where they wound up.

I bought a kx from them a couple years ago, slow shipping was the only problem.

Been buying from Woot since 2005. And not just cheap stuff. My first purchase was a digital projector for my home theatre, then a home theatre audio system, and then a Roomba. Since then, I've purchased laptops and tshirts, garage door openers and a telescope, blankets and a crossbow, and lots of other random stuff. I've never had any problem with them, except their slow shipping via "SmartPost" on some products, which they make pretty clear by putting a snail graphic on the shipping (or at least, they did… dunno if they still use "SmartPost")
