Does anyone know how this compares with the Pentax 10-17mm Fisheye lens?

I don't know how it compares ... but I wouldn't trade my 10 - 17mm Pentax for anything ;-)

been using the Samyang version, basically the same lens, but with lens shade built in......very sharp and easy to use.

its a great lens in my opinion. it doesnt have the versatility of the 10-17mm plus its MF but for that price its a no brainer. my favourite shots have been taken with the 8mm. enjoy it!

It's good to know that some of you were able to snag one. I was so very tempted but decided to hold out for the 10-17mm.

Much better CA control & corner sharpness. Less color saturation.

I was with you, but then decided I wanted wider. And I didn't ever use from 11-17 on the Pentax. I was in your same shoes but pulled this trigger, if it sucks, it goes back! but I doubt it will

After reading this morning about the soon to be released Sigma 18-35 1.8 I'm thinking about saving for that one instead of the 10-17, and getting the 8mm now.

Edit: Add me to the list ... I bought one.

I also bought in when the 'Rokinon' with permanent shade was this price, and this version was $50 more - so this is a great deal.

I just checked Amazon.com and noticed they will have this lens as a Lightning Deal at 9AM Central tomorrow morning (5/16). Will it be cheaper than the Buydig offer?
