Rokinon 24mm tilt/shift, $874 at B&H
Posted By: baro-nite, 05-28-2014, 01:56 PM

First price drop I've seen other than on eBay:

Rokinon Tilt-Shift 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC Lens for Pentax TSL24M-P

Includes free expedited shipping in the contiguous 48 US states.

When I saw this a few days ago I ordered one. After I placed the order, the lens showed as out of stock, so it would seem they only had one copy at the time. It's showing as in stock again. I expect to have mine tomorrow.

Good find! I've been looking at this lens on and off for a while, as a possible replacement for my SMC 28/3.5 Shift lens. Obviously, the Rokinon has the tilt facility, and it's significantly wider than the old Pentax. I'll be interested to see your opinion of it, after you've used it for a while.

I got one of them, but sadly, it's going back to B&H as one of the locking knobs was bent a little. It doesn't affect performance, but for close to $1K, its going back.
I like the lens though.

Hmm, yes, pre-release reviewers expressed concern about the durability of the knobs. Apparently they were improved before final release but clearly I'll need to take a careful look -- thanks for the heads up.

I was looking at this some months ago, but elected to get something more than 2X the cost (thought it's 17mm), and on back order :-( Lot's of fun possibilities...

Thanks Dale -- I had already been enjoying looking over your work with this lens.

Especially once you add a 5D to your kit.
