I've ordered from Adorama before through the site and was pleased. I'd recommend using them and supporting the site. Of course if they would hurry up and send me that O-GPS1 unit that I've had on order for a while...

"Ultra" is rated 30/10mb read/write. "Extreme" is 45/45. Any confirmations that the claimed fourfold write speed improvement yields better performance with either a K5 or K3?

(Post edited because I originally reversed Ultra and Extreme. Extreme is the faster one.)

When I was in Thailand, I was wondering why my buffer was taking longer than usual - I looked and it was the one ultra card where the rest were extremes. Banished the ultra for Q duty while the extremes are in the k5, k5iis. YmMv

Answering my own question. Extreme is much faster on the K-5.

I tested last night on my K-5. I set the camera to Manual, hi speed continuous shutter, DNG format. I held the shutter while the buffer filled, then continued holding for a few more images, then released the shutter button. I timed how long it took the full buffer to be written to the card after I released.

Old Ultra card: 32 seconds
New Extreme: 19 seconds
