The $200 dollar rebate is still available on the Sigma website. I think they are trying to clean out their inventory. Sigma is slowly eliminating the Pentax mount for most of their really interesting lenses.

Hi Richard,

I bought mine from Broadway Camera in Vancouver a while back. Their price has also came down to $1,199.99 in Canadian now, but I think you have to order the Pentax mount.

You were lucky as I see they don't have the Pentax mount anymore. What do you use the lens most for, wildlife or sports?

I always wonder why Pentax stop making 70-200mm range zoom. It is great for air show, stage performance, most sport & wildlife if I can shot from a medium distance. But if you are shooting from a longer distance, 300mm is a must for field sport and 600mm is better for birding.

I notice Sigma is reducing their price on the "Pro" EX lenses since they roll out the "Global Vision" lenses. They may even stop making this version of 70-200 to concentrate on the Global lenses, to counter the offence of Tamron new Di. The Pentax mount probably go faster because there weren't that many made during their production run.
