I find the k30 was a huge upgrade to the k-x. Which in many regards the k-xx was as good as the k-7. I will be honest, I like my k30 (which the k-50 is the same) more than my k5II. The k30 is a huge upgrade in AF from the k-7, but the k5ii series are better in low light.

I have both the K-30 and the K-x.

The K-30 is awesome, but I think Pentax really needs to make a much smaller DSLR to imitate the K-x and match Canon's SL1 (apparently a good seller).

Yep its a really good deal, I even copped one as my first REAL DSLR, never owned a camera before, only some smartphones.
Locally it is still selling for $715.00 here in the UAE and you only get the 18-55mm WR lens and that's about it,
I scored mine for a total of $649.00, beat that local market!!
