Canon Pixma Pro 100 Printer - $89
Posted By: Adam, 06-27-2014, 02:07 PM

After mail-in rebate, this high-end printer (13 x 19) is just $89:

Canon PIXMA PRO-100 Professional Photo Inkjet Printer 6228B002

Sometimes this sale is only available when bundled with a camera, but this time you can just order the printer.

It's Now $34 After Rebate

If you add the printer to your cart, the price drops to $34 after rebate. What a deal!

That sounds good. The 8-ink value pack is $119.99. I wonder how fast you go though these?

The included ink is NOT the regular ink pack, it is "introductory ink" which I guess has much less usage.

Yep, I always assume the starter stuff is good for about 10 prints :-) So I wonder how fast you go through the ones I mentioned.

Not true regarding the ink that comes with the Canon Pro-100. You get FULL cartridges. I bought one of these some months back. I believe the reduced price has to do with the current rebate program ending on June 30th.

You can find some information on the cost of printing/ink usage with this printer at: Cost of Inkjet Printing Report Canon PRO-100 If you look on the D P R Printer Forum, you can find some good information about inexpensive refilling of the ink cartridges.

Indeed. I have had this printer for a while and the original ink tanks have lasted for many many prints (far more than ten,) quite a few of which are the full size 13x19" prints.

That is good news.
But I saw this:

Canon PRO-100 Includes

PIXMA PRO-100 Wireless Professional Inkjet Printer
CD/DVD Disc Printing Tray
Introductory Ink Tanks.
Manuals and Other Documents
....

Good to know it comes with full tanks.
Thanks

This promotion just keeps going and going. It must be a year or so since I bought mine at a similar deal and just love it.

And don't be afraid of the rebate - the rebate card came in 3 weeks.

If you read the one-star reviews on Amazon for the Pro-100, several people wrote about problems getting the rebate. Either the UPC code was not found, even they say it was taped to the rebate form, or in some cases their rebate request was denied by Canon because a rebate request using the same serial number had already been redeemed. Apparently this is an issue with Amazon's resellers and not with direct sellers like B&H or Adorama which didn't have any reviews mentioning these problems with the rebates.
