I predict that the just discontinued Sigma 70-200 will eventually be valued and priced similarly.

The Sigma has a rival in production in the 70-200 Tamron. The Sigma 100-300 F4 is a bit in its own league. Aside from the 60-250 Pentax I suppose. My Tamron 70-200 is amazing!

Well in Canada right now I can't find a new Tamron or a Sigma lens and the distributors have said no ETA for the Tamron and the Sigma has been discontinued. Oh, I did find one but for $1,350! Holy crap that's expensive for me.

No Tamron 70-200. Sorry to hear that. I have had nothing but awesomeness from it. By far my most consistent and reliable lens. And excellent colors, sharpness, and bokeh.
