NO!! As I said in my original post that started this thread, I really can't justify yet another prime lens in that range-- I already have Sigma 24 f/2.8 super-wide II, smc-F 28mm f/2.8, FA 35mm f/2, DA 40mm f/2.8, and FA 43 f/1.9. Yes I crave the HSM focusing of the Sigma 30, as well as the f/1.4, and perhaps also the 30mm focal length (although not that much different than F 28mm and FA 35). But I'm still a bit wary of the size and weight of this prime lens, which is significantly larger/heavier than any other prime I own. Plus there's the autofocus problem that you have a nice workaround but nevertheless makes the lens a bit less appealing.
GRR. I know I'll probably eventually cave. I mean, I still check the Sigma Outlet website a few times a week to see what pops up, which really means being on the lookout for copies of the Sigma 30 Art or Sigma 17-70 contemporary. If I can get either of those at a significant discount from their regular sales price, I might just spring for it sooner rather than later...
