Adorama - Sigma 24-60 F2.8 (E-), $179
Posted By: JinDesu, 09-11-2014, 08:20 AM

Used Sigma 24-60 2.8 Ex Dg Asph F/px Af

A rare-ish lens, usually I see it sold on the forums for $250 when it pops up, so $179 is kinda a deal. I'm tempted to get this one, but thought I'd post it up anyways. I'll see if I can stop by Adorama later this evening to check it out (but if it's good, I'll buy it heh).

I'm holding out for a 24-70 HSM, but if this is sharp at 60 F2.8, I really would consider it (the 24-70 HSM is soft at 70mm, similar to the Tamron 28-75, softer than both Canon 24-70's).

E- category: Barrel shows signs of wear and/or moderate usage. Lens glass may have some dust / spots that should not affect picture quality.

Actually, I bought it. For reference, it is as sharp wide open at 24mm and 60mm as the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 HSM. Compared both in store.

Played around with it some more. Great little lens! Zoom action is a little sticky so I guess that's where the price reduction came from. Will post proper review in a few days. Sorry for making this thread then buying the lens lol.

It's a nice lens. I have one, and I used it a lot with my K-5 and K20d. Not so much with my K-01 these days because, well, it's big.

Also, watch out for flare. It flares if you even think about the sun. SO STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.

Mine wasn't so bad. Shot directly into the sun, no issues. Had some flare when the sun reached the edge of the frame.

You're gonna start a run of "Wanted" ads for this lens soon if you keep this up...

That is how my old Sigma 24-70 felt to so I think that simply how the older incarnations feels.

I guess that is a plus to living in NYC, these 'fabled' online stores actually have brick and mortar fronts to which you can patronize.

I just got a Sigma 10-20mm from Adorama online in the mail today.. was a Condition D for 312 dollars shipped. Super hassle ordering (I have never had a smooth purchase with Adorama EVER) but worth it this time around. The lens arrived in absolutely pristine condition -- had they told me it was new I'd believe them.

In any case, Adorama has some really nice deals in the used section from time to time.. I think more so than B&H as of late. Might be worth a look in general for lenses..

Yeah, I've seen quite a few deals on Adorama. They got a Tamron 28-75 and a 17-50 in the $270 range, and that's a pretty good price IMO. Not price watch worthy, but normally I see those for $300-325 on the forum.
