Would love another, shame they don't ship to the UK.
Yeah, particularly with the Aussie dollar being pretty weak at the moment...this would work out to about GBP135 or so, right?
I wonder if it worth emailing them directly, rather than just trying the online store? Maybe the can arrange shipping with you directly?
Anyways...

Originally posted by howieb101 Great find Dean. Just ordered. I am actually saving up for the 645D. The fullframe will have to wait a few extra years as I actually find APS-C pretty good. This offer though is very good and new full frame glass will initially be expensive.
Good stuff! Do you know what warranty Sigma offer in Australia?
I must admit, even though I'm 100% sure I don't need it, it's hard to pass up what appears to be a good deal...a touch wide-ish to short portrait on APSC and wide to normal on FF, pretty versatile.

Originally posted by jk333 I owned this lens; its sharper than the Sigma 24-70 and is pretty sharp wide open (2.8). As mentioned by Saladin, it's extremely sharp stopped down at all. Slightly warm tone, compared to some of the cooler tones of Pentax lenses. Slightly heavy (heavier than Tamron 17-50)...
Great price for a sharp full frame lens.
Thanks for the input...it seems most people have fairly positive things to say about this particular Sigma lens.

Thanks for your input rawr.
I'm keen to try the A 35-105 one day, certainly very well regarded.
It'll be interesting to see what does happen to lens prices on the secondhand market with the announcement.

Originally posted by saladin I have this lens. Stopped down to 3.5 its really sharp. Ive found the AF inconsistent on my k5 though, even with micro adjustments. It seems prone to the k5 low-light issues at times. Its when you nail it on manual fo us that you realise how good it can be. I suspect on a k5ii or k3 it would be excellent. And yes, i bought it for f/2.8 and with FF in mind.
At $250 Au for a FF 24-60 with large aperture, how can you go wrong?
Yeah, pretty much same price and role as the DA 16-45 on APSC, right? Just one stop quicker.
Focus inconsistency is a pain on any lens...I long for the day when they figure out how to get the speed and view/feel of an OVF with the accuracy of live view focussing...with the usual caveats that most of my misses are more than likely user error...
