20-40 Limited for $799 is lower than anywhere else also. Suppose to be extremely sharp for a zoom, I've heard PF has a in depth review coming.

Wow, great prices esp. on the da50. That one has 7 aperture blades for great bokeh too as I recall!

Holy cow! I am so tempted to impulsively jump on that DA 50mm! It makes me wonder if there's a new lens coming this Christmas and old inventory needs to be cleared out?

And where would this theoretical 2nd hand silver HD 20-40 be?

Just a local listing here in my area, although I am contemplating to get it since I already have the DA 21 and the HD 35. If not for the mediocre results in the reviews, jeez, it's a no brainer.

After running a 10k fundraiser for the local high school i have a new sense of clarity. Even though this is a great bargain I am going to pass. I have enough 50mm lenses to last me a couple of centuries. Happy shooting to all those who jump on this opportunity for a fine 50!

(Watch, I'll buckle at the last minute and snag it anyways! Haha!)

If it were local to me, I'd do it. Can test it in person before buying anyways. Online I'd be more hesitant. $660 is a nice price.

This makes me wonder too.. I had thought if the digital FF body was coming soon, these FF-able DA's would be locked into crop mode on the digital body (assuming it has such a thing). Perhaps, IF there is a new body coming out soon, the new lens would just have a new coating and a different ID that wouldn't auto lock it to crop mode. There is NO indication of any of this. But it does have me wondering.. I mean it makes sense for them to recreate the wheel for a new body and then claim they have released new lenses, when the majority of them are the old lenses with new lipstick.

In any case, this is a fun lens on APS-C at 75mm focal length.... would be a nice starter portrait lens. I've used it at an airshow for static displays and landscape photographs though as a well as brenizer style panoramas.... sharp and nice IQ all around.

Btw the 35mm f/2.4 I find is fantastic for indoors shooting.. birthdays .. that sort of thing.. it has the ideal focal length on APS-C to get a person in the photo and leave what you dont want in the shot out. plus f/2.4 is pretty nice.. though IIRC it sharpens stopped down a little.
