Holy frijoles, sucha deal... is my K-01 getting lonely?

Wait, does the K-5 IIs have focus peaking?

Sorry no it does not. It does allow switching to a better optical focus screen for manual focus if needed.

Adorama has the deal, $546 but no battery grip, but including 64GB card $ AF-200G flash.

Not so appealing to me w/o the grip.

Adorama deal is still going at $546 with 64MB card and AF-200 flash. Finger is hovering over the mouse for clicking 'add to cart'. Must resist! Need to keep reminding myself that I swore never to buy another camera without focus peaking. ;-)

A K-x equipped with a split focusing screen and a K-01. I use mostly vintage manual focus lenses, for which the K-01 is much better suited due to its focus peaking feature, but outdoors in bright daylight it has failed me a few times because of the missing OVF. The K-x is pretty much relegated to hosting the 55-300 and the Sigma 10-20 most of the time. I'm essentially looking for replacing the K-x by a body that does it all equally well. I guess a K-3 is what I really want.

If you need peaking the K-3, K-30, k-50 will do. You should get the K-3 though. Note there is a weight increase if that matters. Oh K-s1 also I guess.

K-3 is on the way. The Adorama deal for $796 with battery grip was too hard to resist. I guess I'm going to sell the grip, though.

Congrats! I am sure you will find a buyer, but may go for less than you hope as there are lots available. That is a heck of a deal regardless!

If I didn't already own a K-3 I would be tempted to do so. The deal on the K-3 is pretty awesome
I'm happy with one of each.

I know this has been covered in other threads, but they're hard to find....

Is there a noticeable difference in IQ between K-5ii and K-5iis? I understand the difference in moire risk, but aside from that, would you really notice a difference between photos taken with each camera, given the same lenses?

I did feel there was a difference between my K-5 classic which is the same sensor configuration vs the K-5iis that drops the AA filter.
The pics look sharper on the iis.
If you are shooting far away landscapes or subjects at a distance it might allow for more apparent detail in the iis shots.
If all your work is portraits of people up close then that may not matter as much and possibly be undesirable.
