$697 for DA 20-40 limited?? Damn, now that's a price that is making me seriously think about it.

Since we're within 30 days of the end-of-November sales, I don't suppose credit can be given for the difference if BF sale prices are lower? That would be too much, right?

Me too, especially since I don't have any WR lenses that cover the standard lengths. Bundled with the K-3 or K-5iis it's even $100 less. If I could get a do-over on gear I think I'd just buy a K-5iis with a 20-40 and 77 and be done with equipment acquisition for a long time.

That's the B&H/Adorama store policy, so as long as you're within 30 days you'd get a credit.

HD DA 70mm for $540 is also a pretty sweet deal on a really beautiful lens. (EDIT: I just noticed the HD DA70 is even cheaper - $490 - when bundled with a body!)

I just can't see the DA 20-40 selling for much less than $697 brand-new from an authorized reseller. I was thinking of waiting for Black Friday or Cyber Monday to see if the lens is further discounted but this is already $300 off of MSRP. Not bad at all... Gotta go back and re-read the reviews of the DA 20-40 and see if the criticisms are worth putting up with for $700. (a lot of the complaints were about the lens being overpriced, but if it had come out at $700, I wonder if the reviews would be a bit more favorable...)

Damn. FA77 @ $846. That's a good price for a new one, isn't it? Do I really need that MIJ engraving?

For some reason the DA 20-40mm is $797 at Adorama but $697 at B&H.

Love that 77, and the 31, but I can't justify them. I have new Voigtlanders in 40 f2, and 58 f1.4 and a beautiful Pentax M50 f1.4. Hopefully some folks will find the deal they've been waiting for at last. I also have the original DA15, which I would rather have than the new HD version.

but don't they often say during Black Friday that Black Friday prices are not matched for prior sales? I feel like I read that last year... Could you possibly reach out to each of them and verify?

DA 50mm F1.4? Was it supposed to be the FA version?

EDIT: Just checked. The link leads to the SMCP-FA 50mm F1.4 lens.

Ricoh must be trying to clear inventory for new HD versions. This is the second big sale in a couple of months and it isn't even Black Friday yet. A friend of mine bought the 77mm on sale a couple of months ago and the box still had Hoya on it, so they have been sitting on inventory for 3+ years.
