The pentax`Shop has dropped the price of the K-3 (body only) to $1099 (AUD). Some of their other pricing is a bit of a puzzle though. All current prices are here: https://www.pentax.com.au/shop/dslr-cameras

The Pentax Shop is now lower than other Australian based retailers (and it is way lower on the O-GPS1).

I think it might be time to buy.

That's a fair price for a body that's about 12 months old now. I didn't wait for the price to drop, but I haven't regretted it.

Excellent news! I checked these just a few hours ago and the old price was still there. Santa's bringing me a new camera

yep, have been waiting for a price drop, might wait a bit longer into November and see if the K-3 II emerges, but, that might not be until Oct./Nov. 2015

Not the PENTAX Flu card though. Just the plain ol' FLU, so no tethering..

Still not interested in the K-3.

There is no new tech, camera or sensor that is better than the pentax K3 so why would they need to upgrade and spend all that money on r&d and retooling. FF on the other hand is on the cards now.

Maybe they could import some new tech. from the likes of the NX1.

So with the AUD dropping to about USD$0.85, the current body only with grip deal from Adorama and B&H is no longer worth it. When you add postage, change the currency and add GST, the camera with the grip from the USA is about AUD$1242 with a US warranty. OK, it's AUD$1348 to get the camera and grip from Pentax Oz, so you might still save AUD$100. Now my dilemma - will Pentax Oz be able to keep this price until the Black Friday sales, or do I grab it now before the exchange rate forces them to raise the price again...

Ok, this deal did it for me, finally bought a K3. I bought it from a brick and mortar store in Sydney CBD, that grudgingly matched the CR Kennedy price. I reckon its worth buying locally for the price - no warranty hassles.
