I prefer this charger to the OEM version with the cord.

I think I paid similar and they work really well for me. I like the charger much better because you can lose the cord and plug it directly into the wall socket. The 12 volt adapter is very useful for using on the road also.

I suspect every K user have one of this...
but I really have difficult time figuring out the color of the LED (green and orange-ish)....

I hope PENTAX OEM charger is compact like this, but with a additional green light to indicated "Full Charged" and red light to indicate "Charged" separately. The OEM charger is clumsy for travel use.

Are the batteries any good? I got a battery that boasts more capacity than my Pentax original battery and yet it doesn't even give me half of the performance of my true Pentax battery. Does Wasabi make good batteries?

Unlike others I have not had good luck with the Wasabis on my cameras, they especially seem to run out quicker than OEM when using my Sigma OS lenses for some reason.
I think I am going to stick to the Pentax OEM for the time being.
Love the Wasabi chargers though

I've bought this set about a year ago (about $30) and this is crap on my K3 and K5.

It last about a third of the orginal PENTAX batteries I've got.
I still use them and the charge remains after a year. For video it's much worse, I can shoot about 30 minutes before it stops.

I haven't noticed a difference between these and my original Pentax battery. I don' do video though except for last night at a recital. I shot about 30 minutes of video without a break and the battery was fine. Not having used my K50 for video before I was concerned about the battery because of the back screen being on the whole time.

I think it might be that quality control is a bit of a crap shoot and some of us get lucky and some not so much. In reading a lot of amazon reviews these seemed like the best of the 3rd party batteries and I really do like the charger a lot.

Agreed on all counts. My Wasabi batteries now last only a handful of shots, less than 100 I'd say. But for the first year, maybe, the Wasabi batteries were pretty OK. Their storage capacity just declined over time.

But the charger is great. I use it to charge my OEM Pentax batteries and those are still going strong.

My Wasabi batteries were pretty close to OEM performance for about 18 months and then they seem to go bad. Still a decent value, I think.

My wasabis last about 2/3 as long as my real pentax battery, but the charger is awesome for keeping in a bag for travel. It charges the battery faster and has a removable plug for a cigarette lighter for charging in the car. You still should charge your battery on your pentax charger if you have the time. The pentax charger is designed specifically for your battery. Quick chargers dont charge fully and can reduce the life of a battery. What I do is quick charge the wasabis on the road but leave the pentax on the real charger.
