I would like to know if you think this is a good deal for the K3 (body only):

Cdn $ 869.99
Pentax K-3 Body Only

Looks good to me ... what do you think?

Then again, if I wanted the matching battery grip ... I can't find that there.
I'll look into other Cdn stores and see.

Edit: price for the grip is around Cdn $240.00 (averaged)

Broadway is a really good store to keep an eye on as they can have very good prices on Pentax gear at times.

I wouldn't do it. I don't know anything about them, and broadway camera or bccamera are not even listed at resellerratings. Moreover, that deal is worse than the B&H deal.

It does have a good reputation.
If you don't know anything about them, it doesn't mean they aren't good.
Then look carefully at the opening post: quoted in Cdn currency ... figure this one out.

As a Canadian, would it be better to get it from a Canadian retailer like Broadway Camera to avoid the exchange rate and to get a 2 year Canadian warranty vs the 1 year international?

Broadway Camera is a good authorized Pentax dealer, they at least carry both the cameras and lenses. The have a good reputation, I have bought from them and they have a bricks and mortar store. It is a Canadian deal and can never match a deal in the USA, we've always had a higher MSRP than in the US.

I'll chime in as a Canadian and definitely with the USD difference now it makes it now not much of a difference and if you do have a problem with your purchase you can drop it off to Broadway camera and they will send it to the repair depot in Canada. You don't have to worry about sending something across the border and deal with customs and duties, etc.

And for some (odd) reason the latest Adorama K-3 deal doesn't seem to have the usual Canadian shipping option where all taxes and fees are collected by Adorama. AFAICT, you have to ship UPS expedited (for $US45!), and UPS has a reputation for charging horrible customs brokerage fees on top of everything else... For that reason, unless you really want/need the grip, the Broadway Camera deal seems better if you're in Canada. We should soon see if B&H does anything for Black Friday I guess...
