B&H will match Adorama's EARLYPEEK deal on the K-3 Bundle but is PentaxForums???
Posted By: CeciProAm, 11-23-2014, 11:39 AM

I finally did it!
I bought the k-3 from B&H & got the free grip & the 540
for 50 bucks.
Adorama was not willing to match the 540 price, even on
their used 540's and they were not offering the extra %
off on some prime lenses I got, so B&H was definitely
the better way to go.....

My one concern is that to meet the price match, after I
tried to order online through this forum's link, they said
I had to call to place the order. I asked twice if Pentax
Forums.com would be receiving credit for my purchase
& they assured me; YES....but I am not sure that I trust
that is really going to happen. Is there any way to know
for sure?

If you call to place an order, we never get credit. However, if you place the order via the web site and request a rebate afterward over the phone, we should get credit.

CS representatives aren't part of the affiliate team, so they can't answer questions about who receives credit for the order AFAIK.

Typically once the deal is complete they cannot retroactively credit a referrer.
The referral occurs as part of the pass through link.

I don't think AFAIK is a valid code anymore, it used to work on my kids when they had a question but now they just google it instead of asking me

Not everyone's first language is English, much less "urban English," to even know if something is an acronym or some kind of discount code. I would have had no clue (and English is my language) had you not referenced "Googling" AFAIK in your reply. (So I did.) AFAIAC we use way too many acronyms in general, but that's just MHO. I have to wade through those a mile deep at work and then keep Google at the stand by during my off time.

Did you have to call B&H for price match on Adorama's EARLYPEEK deal?

NO! B&H has updated their pricing & it is now $796.95 w/the grip & you
don't have to have a code or anything.

If you are taking advantage of the $50 dollar price on the 540 flash do this:
Click on any B&H link on this page, then put the k3 with free battery grip in
your cart.
Then put the 540 pentax speedlight in your cart @ 359 dollars, when you go
to check out it will give you a 309 dollar credit.

The prime lenses I got, show up for about 181.95, the same as Adorama,
but when they are purchased with the k3 they are significantly discounted.

I hope that helps & happy shopping to all & to all a good night!~

Looks like B&H just updated their site to reflect the coupon: Pentax K-3 DSLR Camera Body 15530 B&H Photo Video

Now you can get the body, grip, and flash for $846.95 w/ expedited shipping.
I was debated to get either the K-3 or the XT-1 and with this, the decision just made a lot easier.

Thanks for posting this. I wonder if Adorama will counter and offer the flash and some of the lenses with discounts. I have Adorama rewards $$ and would like to use those towards the K-3. I don't have a flash for my Pentaxi or is that Pentaxes so the B & H deal would be better for me because I want a flash. A few negative reviews on the flash but most have been positive and for $50 why not?

Adorama will not match the flash pricing that B&H is offering.
I tried.
They also will not match the discounts on the lenses that
B&H is offering so the choice was easy for me~
Use your rewards for printing or gifts for others maybe?

That's odd! If we have an item in stock it's not usual that we wouldn't price match to an equally reputable retailer. I can only think that there's been a mix-up or mess-up
Can you please advise which items you were told we couldn't match? Helen@adorama.com

I just got the k3 bundle and tried to get the flash through my order at Adorama too, but the rep couldn't find the 540 flash at B&H to add to my purchase. Bummer, would've like to get the flash as well...

Helen,
If you are able to do any research and let us know of a way to add the flash for $50 to an existing (just purchased) bundle, that would be awesome!

I would like to know that, too. If I decide to order it would be nice to be able to add the flash for $50 and also apply my Adorama rewards towards my order.

I'd like to get the flash too. I ordered the Adorama kit a week ago.
