Ozzies - before you buy from the USA, contact CRK through the Pentax Australia site with the link to the US deal you are considering - they may match the price, and you'll get an Australian warranty. If they don't match the price, you could always order from the States.

You Aussies might also want to hurry up, coz these black friday prices are not gonna last that long. Off topic for RobG, I was saddened to read about cricketer Phil Hughes untimely death dodging Sean Abott's bouncer. At 26, he didnt deserve to die. Vale Phil Hughes

Could not resist the 55-300WR deal. Its one of the suggestions I made several years ago and I just couldn't justify $450ish when my DAL version is such a solid copy. However, with the drop to $260ish and my son's moving up to older soccer leagues that actually continue to play when it rains it seems like a good deal to me. Had the same problem with the FS offer but cleared my cookies and clicked straight through from the order now button and it was added the second time. No tax outside 3 US states too - so no tax for me either. I just wish it were B&H or Adorama.......

If this version is as good a copy as my DAL 55-300 I'll be selling the DAL. I wonder how many DA/DAL55-300s will be on the marketplace after the WR versions ship?

True about the prices. Yes, the cricketing accident was tragic. Also tragic for the bowler Sean Abbott. It's shocked the nation.

Ya I was planning on buying one later.
I just tried buying it with paypal to see what happens, but I can't even pay for it from Canada and have it shipped to a USA address. So only way I'd be able to get it, is ask my brother to buy it and pay him back. But he'd think I'm nuts for spending this much on a lens (even though it's discounted so much.)

But it's an investment, right? lol. Guess I'll leave it for now...

The Pentax USA Store is the official Ricoh-Pentax outlet. Their prices aren't often competitive but they are now. These items come with a 1 year US warranty from Pentax. You can purchase an additional 2 year extended warranty on camera bodies for $20 that is a steal of a deal. Welcome aboard.

I was looking at k3 and the 31 and 77 limiteds. Saw the bh/adorama prices.... Not enough discount. Bought 77 used on eBay for 650, but the best 31 price I saw was over 800. So I just ordered from pentax web store. No shipping or tax, for indiana.
At least I know that if I have buyers remorse on either of these I won't be out more than a few dollars.
My wife will hopefully forgive me since these lenses should fit in my pockets and she won't have to carry anything.

As for the k3? It'll just get cheaper later.
