There are a lot of other lenses on sale as well although the price cuts are not quite as high generally.

I just ordered the 31mm :-)

I called today to get the missing EyeFi card that was supposed to be included with my K50. The very pleasant lady said that the warehouse forgot to put it into the box since it's a separate item. There was no hassle or needing to talk to a manager involved so I suspect they've had several calls about this particular issue. She just entered a no-charge order to ship the card out to me.

Curious, how many of you who ordered the 55-300 when it was backordered have actually got the lens?

On another note, the Pentax web store really needs a public feedback and rating system.

I checked a few minutes ago and mine is still listed as "All Backordered".

Mine has changed to "hold for quote" IIRC that was the status before it was canceled during the fiasco last year...

I realize we are all frustrated but my response was to your inquiry with a more elaborate answer than merely "no".

While I was told 12/7 back at the time the order was shifted to backordered - several people have reported that they have been told 12/17 was when the lenses were expected.

I don't know if this allays any concerns about the 55-300, but it took about 45 days for me to receive a backordered 50mm f/1.8 from the Pentax Web Store. I ordered it in mid-October for $119.95 including shipping and it arrived at the end of November 2014. Originally, they had expected to receive a shipment at the end of October, but I guess they didn't get them until late November. In my case it was simply that they were out of stock when I ordered the lens and it took that long to fulfill the order. Nevertheless, I'd keep copies of all correspondence untill the lens was received, especially in light of the billing sanfu we've seen. Typically, I make a screen print of the web site order for my records and keep it until the item arrives.

Canceled part of my order today. My daughter's k-50 and 18-55 lens kit that I planned on giving her for Christmas. I called this morning and they have no idea when it was going to ship. So I ordered from B&H and will have it on the 17th. I'm still going to wait for the 31mm that they told me would ship mid January. What a mess. Never again.

Not frustrated in the least, here. I didn't order one. Just asking if anyone GOT the lens once it went "backordered".

I ordered when it was still in stock, but because of payment issues my order was not processed right away. By the time things got squared away it was on backorder.

Unless you can show REAL hardship or damages caused by a breach of contract no. Even then I'd imagine there is small print I never read that strongly favors the merchant in arbitration. Other than that send some messages to Pentax/Ricoh telling them your experience, and shop elsewhere in the future not recourse but could make you feel better

P.S. This and previous PWS orders have been the worst retail experiences I've ever had. I've bought counterfeit products and was happier at the end of the day it was resolved. I feel these guys just leave you hanging. I wonder how many future/current Ricoh customers this is turning away? Not saying I'm going to jump ship but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This is where you get linked to buy from the Ricoh homepage how can it not reflect on them?

Hi All, For those of you still waiting for your new toys and those of you who have recently received them take note of the return policy. The 30 day return policy did not apply the my 31 Limited I received. The "special item specific return policy" on this lens is 14 days. I am not aware is this applies to other items.
