Cool! Have fun with the lens! I'm really keen to see now the 1.4 TC performs.
Let us know how it goes I am very keen to know how you go too. Keen to know how it goes on AF and the clarity.

I'm sure I'll be sharing stuff in "Post your photos", plus there's a thread about 300mm+ lenses.

The order arrived today! The camera battery is charging right now. I also got a bonus Trek Flu card which I wasn't expecting. I understand that this flu card doesn't work with the K3 in the way that the Pentax card does, but it was still a nice surprise.

I am already impressed with the K3. The speed and accuracy of the AF for my FA*80-200 is outstanding. First impressions are that I do not have to do any AF adjustments - but more testing required.

I have both cards and they are different but honestly you aren't missing much pentax flu gives you remote focus and shutter and that is it nothing more. Just be warned if you leave your card option for wifi turned on it chews through the battery much quicker unless you need to view straight away I turn the wifi off and then turn it back on when the shoot is done to download.. Hope you have heaps of fun.

I'm suffering a little "procrastinators regret" right now, lol. Largely over the GR. Probably for the best with an expensive christmas just around the corner. At least, that's what i keep telling myself.

I'm suffering a little buyer's remorse for getting it in time, considering an expensive Xmas is around the corner. You just can't win with GAS. Besides you could also tell yourself a new model might be coming out in the next few months. The Coolpix A has been discontinued. The GR may not be far behind.

I wasn't home when Star Track came calling and was too late to get to the post office, my K3 will have to wait until tomorrow.

Yes, the Pentax remote card features are not necessarily useful. Mind you it could be handy to set the camera up on a tripod then move away to photograph a bird. Also possible with a hide, of course. First half day with the camera and there's a lot to learn! I'll put a normal SD card in the camera for now. Thanks for the warning about the battery!

Agreed. I put on the 1.4TC and DA*300 after work and experimented. I found I could get shots more easily than with the K5 because the AF of the K3 is better. Time to focus isn't necessarily faster because it's still SDM, but less hunting and it finds focus where the K5 would not. I was also amazed to find that I could shoot with that lens combination hand held. I didn't expect that!

I took advantage of the discount and free shipping to get an O-GPS1 Astrotracer. Ordered Friday evening, got email to say it had been shipped on Monday and received it on Tuesday. Great service from CRK and StarTrack.
What a super little device.

That's also true of some of the Pentax lenses.

Guys, any chance CRK will have some discounts for Christmas / Boxing Day, especially on Sigma lenses? I am wishing for some price discounts on the Sigma 17 - 50mm f2.8.
