That is such a big (and quick!) price drop from it's original sale price. I'm getting kinda tempted . . .

Starting to look like the k-01 all over again. I bet it will be within the K-50's price range soon!

Interesting that it's through Pentax Amazon, and not a third party reseller. That's a good sign.

My strategy the past few years has been to acquire originally overpriced Pentax equipment at a big discount, like the K-01, MX-1, and DA 20-40. I guess the KS-1 will make its way into my camera bag soon enough!

Not in North of the border though Amazon.ca still have it at 699.99. Converting that price to USD, that is still 598, not even close.

You never bought an original, magnesium-alloy bodied Q at $200 (down from $800)? You missed out!

$229 with 01 lens was almost as good as my $160 K-01

I'll let someone else jump in the water first. We don't know much about the K-S1 yet. For about the same money, you can buy a used K5, which is a known great camera. Whoever jumps, please post a review.

Look in the K-S1 forum, there are several K-S1 users who have good things to say about the camera.

Boxing day. Expect $499 CAD from places like Carmen's (ProDigital2000).

That would be interesting... drastic price drop not even a year yet since introduction.

While as a consumer I am a fan of the price drops, my concern is that too steep discounts hurt the brand....anyone else feel this way?
