A rare item for auction --> 300mm f/5.6 Pentax Ultra-Achromatic UA Takumar lens. Think they'll be any takers?

Personally, I think you are asking too much. I could buy a 300 f/4 with autofocus and weather sealing for less than that. My advise is knock it down to about $500, then you might get buyers.

Indeed. If I were the seller it would be bad manners for me to post it to the price watch.

These are so rarely seen It was worth posting for the folks that keep track of serials on these. (3605452) I think it is too expensive too. But ultimately, it's up to any potential buyer.

Almost $3k USD for a lens and the seller didn't post a single photo of the rear element, or a decent pic of the front element for that matter...yet there are a dozen pictures of the lens body from virtually the same angle. I don't know why this bothers me so much...

I think I only saw one of these on eBay before, about 5 years ago, with a cracked front element.

Not one I am going to get.
