Bad luck. Last year I missed out on an FA 31 that went for $660 because I was tied up. Also missed a DA 70 that went for $330, although that might have been a blessing in disguise, as I later got a 77 limited. This is a really wonderful lens.

Keep looking and one will turn up. They sometimes go fairly cheaply on Gumtree - although caveat emptor.

The bloke who sold me the 43 (excellent seller, posted it immediately) is also selling his K-5 with DA 18-135 and Tamron 70-300. Auction finishes tonight - currently only at $420. The 18-135 alone would be worth at least $300.

Prices I mentioned were $A, but I understand.

As a value proposition, a combination of DA 15 or 21 Ltd + DA 35 Ltd macro or DA 40 Ltd + DA 70 Ltd might provide more bang for buck than any two or all three of the FA Ltd amigos. It might be possible to get three of the DA Ltds for less than the FA 31 Ltd alone.

that way i do have quality lens voigtlander m42 50/1.8, at-x pro 28-70/2.8, F*300 /4.5 and other lesser ones, i just brought a at-x pro 20-35/2.8 with autofocus issues for around 230$, ido have tokina 19-35/3.5-4.5, promaster 19-35/3.5 4.5.
but a FA limited is FA limited as owning a zeiss makroplanar.
did think of buying HD DA 21mm but then brought 20-35/2.8 it has 2 aspherical elements

That was my feeling too. I saw another one going for about $1000 on Gumtree recently.

I bought the K3. Excellent condition and took it for a play the other day. Autofocus and general performance is awesome... a quantifiable step up from my K30 (which is now selling on ebay with Sigma 17-70!)
