If you had none of the above lenses and could get just one, which one, and why? :-)

The 1.4x converter. Santa brought the DA* 300. Or maybe buy the 10-17 again because I like it so much. Write me a check and I can justify most of them.

Probably the 16-50 -- just because it is a great walk around lens with a fast aperture and good sealing. Truthfully, they are all good lenses you just need to figure out which fits your shooting style and fills a hole that you need. If you own the kit lens, then you maybe a prime would be more in order.

That's my 2 cents.

I would second Rondec - the DA16-50....it gives you the focal range and aperture speed of almost 5 primes (15/21/35/40/50) AND it is weather sealed. Granted the primes are a little better in image quality, but not by a lot.

If you wanted just one prime, consider the 35 Ltd or the 50 Macro - very useful focal lengths and the macro capability adds to their versatility.

IMHO...

77mm ltd. It has always intrigued me but I may never be able to justify owning one. I still hold on to the dream of one day finding one at goodwill attached to an old film camera for $20

Since the FA 77 was released in 1999, this isn't as likely given it was the tail end of the supremacy of film bodies. The DA 70 LTD was released in 2006.
