That's a really nice price for the DA *55. If I didn't have one, I'd probably snatch it up for that (I paid 575 for mine four plus years ago).

Ever since I sold my DA* 16-50 a couple years ago I've missed it. I've been so torn between this and a mirrorless compact. Guess it doesn't matter as I can't afford either right now.......

Great find Doc!

Is it the sign that pentax is going to change mount on the coming new camera?
please! don't do that!
It looks not that way: FA limited get small discounts. Most are DA lenses.

So updated lenses are on their way?

Why is silver less expensive than a black lens?

I certainly hope not. It could mean any number of things though. Among one it could be to drive sales. The economy is teetering on the edge of another recession... so they might be prepping for that...

Who knows? Not me.

I see similar or even lower prices on some of these on Amazon.
for example, $360 for the HD 55-300mm

Amazon charges tax for many more states than B&H does. In my state, that is nearly 10% extra. And the price of the lens in question at amazon is, while fulfilled by Amazon, not actually Amazon (but 'Emmy Photo').

Just throwing it out there for a comparison, I'm not affiliated with Amazon by any means.
No taxes from either of them for me here in Missouri.

The USD has appreciated 15% versus the Yen in just 6 months. This isn't necessarily a 'sale' - it's possibly just currency leverage that RIAC used to their advantage on an order from home country warehouses to get some action before CP+.

There are probably more silver 35/2.8's than black, so Ricoh cut a better deal - and they're backordered for 10 days at B&H.

I think this is a signal that the full frame camera rumored to be released later this year will be at a low enough price point to gut the market for the "D" lenses... I decided not to buy anymore "D" lenses when I read the rumor a couple of weeks ago. Only problem is that BH only lists 8 full frame lenses made by Pentax...
