Bought my K-3 from Quickndone (for $US620) and an HD DA 55-300mm WR from Prodigital2000. They both ship out of Stratford ON, and both boxes I received identify the sender as Carman's Foto Source, with the same address (257 Monteith Ave). It seems pretty clear they are the same, but Prodigital2000 bills as "402424 Ontario Limited" and Quickndone bills as "2254062 Ontario Limited" - or at least they respectively did in my single transaction with each of them. So it's possible they're not legally the same company.

I've bought several lenses from Canada. No extra fees at all. Now if you lived in Great Britain like my brother does. You get hit with all sorts of taxes. I sent him a camera grip as a gift and he ended paying $30 taxes on a $75 dollar used camera part. They even tax you over there if you have a color Tv as opposed to a black and white. And he pays extra tax because he has a water spicket located on the back of his house to water the flowers. Unbelievable !

Does this deal come with US warranty?
I'm answering my own question here - because I found out!

Reply from quickndone:
This camera includes a 2 Year Pentax Canada warranty & 1 Year international warranty. The 1 Year international warranty is valid in the US.

Thanks

In their eBay listings, both prodigital and quickndone clearly state that US buyers will not be charged any additional duty or related fees.

For those who buy from the US, you end-up paying less than us in Canada since we have to pay taxes (whereas no additional fees to pay in US - since some have indicated no customs fee applied). The difference of course is in the one extra year of warranty buying from Canada.

I'm not even considering a K-3 until the price of new, leftover bodies drops below $500 - just like when I bought my K-5 IIs.

Biro - You're a smart shopper, and apparently much more patient than most of us!

He also isn't enjoying his K-3 yet, unlike many of us.

I generally do the same thing.. it makes much better financial sense. The body is a specialized computer.. computer prices diminish greatly over time. I was looking in the news here at PF yesterday and noticed the K-5IIs announcements of price decreases... from 700 to 600 to 500..

I bought a K-30 new for 600 and then, later that year, the used prices were going for around 350. never am I purposefully doing that again.

You'd be lucky if you got $200 bucks for it today.

The going price seems to be around 200-250 on ebay these days.. a TON of them were sold recently and all went for that. Just body and battery charger. Amazing how prices on these plummet.. the K-30 was brand new just 3 years ago (and launched at a price of $850 USD)!!! Now selling for a quarter of it's original release price.

200-250 is an excellent price for the k30. It has been my most reliable Pentax camera I have owned.

Canadian / International warranty.

OK, I just received my quick & done $599 K-3 (long way to Europe). There is a blank form of Canadian Warranty in the box, but how one obtain International Warranty (i.e. for Europe)?
I believe in-case I one can mail the camera to the Canadian service center for the repairs, right? The point might be risky customs office paperwork (or relatives in Canada).
Does obtaining of 1-year International Warranty void 2-year Canadian Warranty?
Nobody knows which service center is the worst - American, Canadian or French
