I have a FA-J 18-35mm and I really like it for both film and digital applications. Looking through the viewfinder with the lens at 18mm is inspiring even before you press the shutter button!

I totally want one. Bummed that they will not ship international. (I confirmed with their web support.) I've been looking for a good one of these for a while, and would love to have a new one. Anyone in AU want to make a few bucks ($35) to ship me one?

Thanks Rawr. I grabbed one. Don't know when I'll grab the mythical FF camera but I am happy to pick up the glass for it. I know the wide angle glass is going to be hard to get on eBay, etc. The full frame telephoto stuff will be pretty easy to get I think.

ive ordered an 18-35 for myself.

For some reason the Q bundle has jumped back up to $299.

They also are listing the sigma 4.5 in k mount.

Teds pricing can be weird. The 18-35 was sitting there for $99 for a while, then it spiked to $150, then it went back to it's current $99. It's strange that they can have such dynamic pricing on advertised 'clearance' items.

1) Then they can say their regular $99 price is a sales price.
2) They can get you to buy thinking I missed my chance once,I better get it now for sure.
3) I can buy something full priced while I am at it.
Simple consumer manipulation. Just like selling automobiles. Or boxes of cereal.

It went back to 99 because i complained about it, lol. They couldnt explain it and changed it back. If anyone wants the Q, contact the online Help guys and ask them About the price hike.

No doubt you are right. I have this idea that 'clearance' pricing means 'we should get rid of this slow-moving stock, let's price it to move it'. Seems like 'clearance' at Teds doesn't have such a meaning.

Teds do some price matching. That can produce weird responses too. When I asked about matching a price on a lens once I got this response:
"Wow! That is a cracking price! I can't actually match that, the best I can do for the Tamron SP 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di is $0.00."
Tempted as I was, I didn't seek to hold them to this.

Just a note - the 18-35 lens arrived from Teds, in the original Pentax box, with manuals and paperwork. But no lens hood was supplied, nor was there a front or rear lens cap in the box. Plus (unsurprisingly) the front and rear lens elements were dirty

In other words, this isn't a new and unused lens. Perhaps an ex demo item or a return. If you buy anything from Ted's on clearance in future, be aware of this.

However in my brief tests around the house the lens seems OK optically and seems a keeper - no scratches or marks, no obvious decentering, no visible CA, reasonably sharp when stopped down a notch. It seems to perform better at 18mm than other focal lengths, but that's OK. Plus it is incredibly light and compact for a wide-angle.

But they did not say that it wasn't new, did they? And you expected a NEW lens, did you not?
That is just bad marketing and arrogantly bad customer service. I certainly won't be trusting Ted's in future.

Indeed I did. They should have been clear about what they were selling.

It was also pretty poor that the lens, while bubble-wrapped, was simply enclosed in the box in a zip-loc bag, no silica gel inside, nor lens caps. And the serial number on the enclosed warranty card does not match the serial number on the lens ...
